They can still get along, but sometimes they still argue and bicker. I'm completely tired of what goes on between them, I just want them to get along. I cant really be on neither of my parents sides, and I don't get in between them when they have arguments. So I honestly am a little concerned that this is gonna end in them getting a divorce, but I just don't even want to anticipate that happening. Do you have any advice for me?

Watching and hearing our parents fight can be very scary. We are really glad that you are reaching out for help and support today. You are right in that you should not get into the middle of their disagreements and hopefully your parents aren't putting you in that situation. Have you tried talking with your parents about how you are feeling and the concerns that you have? They may not realize how much of an impact their fighting is having on you.

You might try talking with them each individually about how you are feeling. If you don't feel comfortable with talking with them face to face maybe write out your thoughts and feelings in a letter. We have some really good articles on our website that talk about dealing with our parents separating and divorcing that you might find helpful. We would encourage you to check them out:

http://www.yourlifeyourvoice.org/v2/Pages/family.aspx

Take Care,

Amy, Crisis Counselor

16
