You Guys Helped Me A LotAddictionYou Guys Helped Me A Lot

Hi, you guys helped me a lot when I younger. I just want to say you guys are pretty great. Since talking to you guys, I have really done a lot in my life. In the last year alone, I have moved states, started my dream university and learned how to be an adult. I even went a year with no self harm. Since I have moved twice in less than a year, it is hard to keep a support system. I have made friends at this university and even opened up to an older adult about some of my problems and self harm. There were times where I wanted to die in high school, but because of you guys and others, I am still here and doing well. Thank you guys for your hard work in helping teens and young adults.

Thank you so much for the compliments. It's awesome to get feedback like this, but even better to hear that you are in a good place now and feel the tips you were able to get here at YLYV through the years were helpful.

We respond to young adults up to age 25 here at this site, so if you ever need us again, the Hotline is here for you. It sounds like so far your college experience is a good one. That transition is exciting, but you are right, it can be hard at first just figuring out where you fit in, what extra-curriculars you want to do, who to hang out with, and who do you trust enough to confide in. The older you get, the more you'll feel comfortable identifying who your support system is. You'll likely move again at some point, but you can always widen that circle of support and grow new friendships too.

Have a great year. Before you know it, you'll be through the semester. Work hard so you can play hard. It was great hearing from you.

Laura, Crisis Counselor

19
