Hi. I've been feeling really sad recently and harming myself never came to mind but I've done it before and I don't want to take any chances. I'm scared that if I can't calm down, something might happen. </span></p></div>

There are many reasons why people may want to hurt themselves. Things may seem overwhelming to you and cutting could be a way to cope with the hurt and the pain. I encourage you to think about positive ways to cope with stress. Activities like working out, journaling, listening to music, meditation, sports, or reading a book can help you relax and get your mind off these thoughts. Consider talking with a trusted adult about your feelings. </span></p><p><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3">You did a great job reaching out to let us know that you are hurting. We recommend that you keep reaching out; please know that you are not alone. Sometimes just talking about the sadness that you're feeling helps to sort out things.
