School is starting soon, and there is a high chance that he will be in my classes. I don't know what to do. I'm scared what will happen if we run into each other. </span></span></p></div><div class="ExternalClass8FD5463CD25A44BF848C855679949F25"><p> <span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">We are so glad you found the courage to reach out about this.  It sounds like it has left you with a lot of anxiety and fear especially with the upcoming school year approaching.  It must be very distracting when you are just trying to go to class and have the worry of seeing him at any time.  When something that traumatizing happens to someone it can take a long time to heal.  You took an amazing and brave step by emailing in to us so we can provide you with support and help in any way we can. </span></p><p> <span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">During this time, have you been taking care of yourself and using your coping skills? While you are healing, there could be waves of negative emotions and anxiety. It is important to have some positive coping skills to help you through those times.  If you need any ideas, we have a list of 99 coping skills on yourlifeyourvoice.org.  Here is the link:</span></p><p> <a href="/Pages/tip-99-coping-skills.aspx"><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">http://www.yourlifeyourvoice.org/v2/Pages/tip-99-coping-skills.aspx</span></a></p><p> <span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4"><span style="line-height:115%;"><a href="/Pages/tip-9-steps-to-taking-care-of-yourself.aspx">http://www.yourlifeyourvoice.org/v2/Pages/tip-9-steps-to-taking-care-of-yourself.aspx</a></span> <br></span></p><p> <span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">Having a strong support system is important during this time.  Can you think of any trusted adults you could talk to? Perhaps a parent, teacher, or school counselor.  Maybe they would be able to change your schedule around so you don't have to worry about running into him. We understand that telling an adult about this is easier said than done, but your wellness and safety are SO important.  No matter who did this to you, you have a right to report it.  If in time that is something you want to pursue, we could even make the call with you so you don't have to do it alone. Or we could call a trusted adult with you if that is the route you want to take.  The decision is up to you, but just know we are here for you in whatever way you feel would be helpful.</span></p><p> <span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">We are here if you would like to talk about this further.</span></p><p> <span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">There are several ways to speak directly to a counselor:</span></p><p> <strong class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">CHAT or TEXT </strong><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">with a Your Life Your Voice Counselor </span><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4" style="background-color:transparent;">through </span><a href="/" style="background-color:transparent;"><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">www.yourlifeyourvoice.org</span></a></p><p> <span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">There are also counselors available to speak to you by <strong>PHONE</strong> 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at</span></p><p> <span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">1-800-448-3000.</span></p><p> <span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">Thank you for reaching out to us and take care,</span></p><p> <span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4">KC, Counselor</span></p></div>15
