He tried kissing me multiple times and I didn’t want to kiss him. I told him to stop but he didn’t. He pulled my hair to keep my head up and he gave me a hickey. I told everyone it was a bruise, friend’s included. But I would like to forget that night ever happened and I don’t know what to do.

What happened sounds very scary and we're sorry that you are dealing with those feelings. At this point, it is probably a good idea to let an adult know that this happened. We can't say for sure if it would be classified as an assault but at the same time, he forced himself on you and touched you without your permission. That isn't okay. It is worth talking with a parent, counselor or even the non-emergency police about. If he did this to you, he may do it to others or even go further with others. He needs to know that this isn't okay.

Our counselors are here for you to help you work through this scary situation. Be good to yourself and remind yourself that you are not to be blamed for his actions. Take care of your body and mind even though you might feel like you don't want to. Reach out and talk with one of our counselors if you want to talk further about this. We know it had to very scary for you and we hope that you will talk it through with an adult.

Take care,

Naina, counselor
