She knows how it hurts me, but she won't stop. I told my mom, but she hasn’t done anything to stop her. My stepdad calls me fat sometimes. It hurts me a lot. I don't know what to do so I came on here. I feel so alone right now.</span><br></p></div><div class="ExternalClass300DBAB105A847AD9DD6849949FBFEC4"><p>​No doubt being called names hurts. We're glad you reached out to talk about this. </p><p>Many times, we cannot control what others say to us. We don't always like what comes out of their mouth and we can't make it stop but you can speak up and talk with them about it. Why do they call you names? Why do they think you are lazy and dumb? Are you able to talk with either one of them about how it makes you feel when they use those words? Having that conversation will alert them on how badly it hurts them to say those things to you. <br></p><p>It is equally as important to not let those words stick to you. Don't let them bring you so far down. You can't control the words they speak but you can control how it impacts you. You can sit around and let it bring you down and make you feel alone or you can do things that build you up and make you feel better about yourself. Take care of yourself, use positive self-talk, be good to your body and mind.
