I Have No One To Talk ToFeelingsI Have No One To Talk To

For about 5 years I have suffered from depression, also anxiety. Lately I don't know what to do with my life, I've been thinking about my end. These days my depression has worsened a lot, I have a hard time doing some things that matter to me. It's like watching a movie that is being filmed around you, one where everyone has their happy ending except you. I have no one to talk to. I only have my mother and she, despite being very wise, is very religious and because I and God are not in good terms to say .... it does not help. I hope someone here can help me, please.

We know you are in a lot of emotional pain right now but you took an important first step in reaching out for support and that is courage inside of you that you might not have even recognized was there. It is difficult to work through the emotions you are experiencing but in order to get through this difficult time you must keep going. One step at a time. If at any point during your journey you don't think you can keep yourself safe, reach out and talk about it.

Walking through times of anxiety and depression is not easy, it can be an emotional rollercoaster and make you feel hopeless but there is hope. With the right supports, it is treatable. You can learn healthy coping skills to manage it and even talk to a professional about getting some more intensive treatment in order for you to start feeling like yourself again. It does take a little bit of time in trying to find the right help, but that doesn't mean it can't be done. You just need to know that you don't have to do it alone. We aren't sure what you have tried in the past or what hasn't worked for you but a big part of getting better is expressing your thoughts and feelings in a safe place which is what you can do with us.

Start today by being kind to yourself. Make yourself do something for you, it might not be easy but the more you get into a routine of self-care, the more you are taking care of your needs and that is very important. Get out and get some fresh air if possible even if it is taking a walk around your block. Be patient with yourself.

Stay safe and reach out anytime.

LO, Counselor

17
