I Have To Get GlassesFeelingsI Have To Get Glasses

Hi, I'm upset and I'm sorry if this is a stupid problem. One of my teachers told my mom that I'm having trouble reading because I said the words are too small. My parents took me yesterday for a eye exam and I have to wear glasses now when I'm reading, on computer and doing homework or class work. We will get them this week, I don't want to be made fun of.

Getting glasses is a big transition. The great news is that you will be able to see so much better and won't have to struggle. The hard part is what will others say about your glasses?

Getting glasses is so common that people that don't even need glasses want them. They sell fake glasses and people love wearing them because they like how they look in them. Enjoy your new look and try not to let what you think others might say get in the way of this. Rock your new look!

Having confidence and showing it will help you. You will never be able to control what others say or do but you do have the full control of yourself and your actions. Let your friends know that you are getting glasses and that you are a little nervous about them. But if you enjoy them and know you look good, there should be nothing in the way. Be comfortable. Be kind to yourself.

We are here anytime. Give us a call, text or email and let us know how you are doing.

Take care,

Naina, Counselor

12
