I need to talk about my Suicide thoughts It's really hard to talk to someone about this because my thoughts keep telling me that no one will ever love me. My Dad yells at me that I will never find love and that I'm a pig and a dog.

Suicidal thoughts are really difficult to talk about, we understand. You took a step in the right direction by reaching out today for support. We will be here for you as you struggle through this. The negative things that you are hearing are simply not true. There ARE people who care and who want the best for YOU. We are some of those people and we are ready to talk with you whenever you are ready. You can reach out to one of our counselors by texting VOICE to 20121 or by calling our hotline 1-800-448-3000 24/7. You can also continue to email us but we can provide more support through text or phone because then we can have a back and forth conversation, so we can really understand the things that you are going through.

For now, there are two things that we would like you to work on:

When you someone says something negative to you, we want you to replace those negative words in your head with kind, positive thoughts towards yourself. If you can't think of any positive thoughts, you can use our list, we have 101 different thoughts you can try. We encourage you to print this list, put it under your pillow and pick 2 positive thoughts to say to yourself every night before you go to sleep. This way you can end the day on a good note.

101 Positive Things To Say To Yourself

We would like you to work on a Safety Plan. This is a plan that you make for times when you don't feel safe. Writing down the steps that you will take to be safe helps your brain to know what to do when things are overwhelming and it can't think very clearly. It would be great if you could also print this, fill it out and then keep it somewhere handy in case you need to be reminded of how you are going to be safe and where you're going to get support.

Your Safety

Creating A Safety Plan

Remember, if you want to talk, our hotline is ALWAYS open – 1-800-448-3000. We WILL be here to help you.

Sara, Counselor

10
