I have so much time on my hands. It doesn't get better. What's the point of still living the same old chaos? There's a lot more but can't think of it at the top of my head. My mom and everybody has no idea because on the outside I'm so happy you would probably never imagine anything would be wrong. Now I guess its not surprising that 13 Reasons Why is favorite show... maybe everybody would miss me when I'm gone too.</span></p> <span style="font-size:16px;"> </span><span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-size:16px;"> </span><span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-size:16px;"> </span></div><div class="ExternalClass12407F7AD47C49DF9E5CBBAFB0BFF164"><div><div class="ExternalClass864A4BDE2D89463A9B93286EC2892FEE"><p style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;"><span>We are so very glad that you are writing in.  Right now it does sound like you are struggling with all of the many changes you have experienced in a short period of time. Your feelings are real. Your thoughts of suicide are real.  The 13 Reasons Why series brings up difficult topics and feelings. The story is fictional, but there is nothing fictional about suicide or the thoughts and feelings you are having.  </span></p> <p style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;"><span>Please go talk to the counselor at your school if you don’t think you can talk to your parents about these thoughts and feelings.  Your feelings are important.  Be direct.  Do not say, "I am feeling bad" and then wait for a response.  Instead say, "I am struggling with my parents and school and it is overwhelming me to the point of having suicidal thoughts.  I am having a hard time seeing the point in living.  Please help me find someone to talk to about these feelings so I don't do anything to end my life."</span></p> <span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);"> </span><span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-size:16px;"> </span><span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;"> </span><p style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;"><span>You are right that there is hurt and pain left behind to everyone who knows the suicidal person. They would miss you. The series gives the impression that suicide leaves a message or teaches a lesson to those left behind. That's not a reason to take your life. Instead of thinking how others might feel if you were gone, concentrate on your own current feelings. Talk about what is going on.  There is help available. Healing can happen and things can get better.  </span></p> <span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);"> </span><span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-size:16px;"> </span><span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;"> </span><p style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;"><span>There are so many wonderful times ahead of you.  Not everyone understands what to say to a person who has suicidal thoughts and feelings.  If going to your guidance counselor or parents does not get you the help you are looking for, call us and talk to one of our counselors.  We will talk with you about your thoughts and feelings.  The call is a free one, so it will not eat up your time or usage.  The  number is 1-800-448-3000.  We will listen to you and talk to you about ways to feel better.</span><br></p> <span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);"> </span><span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-size:16px;"> </span><span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;"> </span><p style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;"><span>Be safe, reach out and talk about how you are feeling.</span><br></p> <span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);"> </span><span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-size:16px;"> </span><span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;"> </span><p style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;"><span>Karen, counselor</span></p> <span style="font-size:16px;"> </span> <span style="font-size:16px;"> </span><span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-size:16px;"> </span><span style="color:rgb(89, 89, 89);font-size:16px;"> </span></div></div> </div>15
