Tons Of StressSchoolTons Of Stress<div class="ExternalClass11370DEB756C42AEAD19D9466D777BB5"><p style="font-family:georgia;font-size:16px;"><span>I find myself dealing with tons of stress, all the time. My stress is about everything, but mostly about if I have things done or not for school. I'm an overachiever and I feel that everything has to be perfect, I have to do everything right. It's so hard, because I can't do everything right, so eventually I push all of that stress into the back of my head at the end of the day it pours out, I start crying and my mom tries to help, she'll hug me and tell me that I'm doing great, but no matter what she says I still have to do everything right, it's just so hard to deal with. </span></p> <span style="font-size:16px;"> </span></div><div class="ExternalClass9DE3B112B5534205A1BEB93CE0140B9B"><div><div class="ExternalClass11370DEB756C42AEAD19D9466D777BB5"><p style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"><span>Stress simply stinks!!  Learning how to manage the stress is an art, the more  you practice, the better you get at it.  You may not realize it but you are actually doing some things exactly right and we want you to give yourself credit for this.  You are mature enough to recognize the two main issues that are causing your stress - 1) You have a lot to do and 2) you want to do really good work.  You also are recognizing when you need help which is why you are reaching out to us. And lastly, you are using your support system (your mom).  You are telling her what is going on and giving yourself time to let out the emotions that you are feeling.  Great job!  This shows that you have the ability to process the stress that you are facing, now you just need the skills to deal with your day to day life.</span></p> <span style="color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><p style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"><span>We have some ideas on this that we are going to share but we also bet that your teachers and school counselor might have some really great tips as well.</span></p> <span style="color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><p style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"></p> <span style="color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);">The first thing that we want you to consider is - what are your priorities?  Would you consider the things that you are stressing out about right now to be top priorities in your life?  If not, what about changing the amount of things you are involved with and streamline things a bit so you can really focus on the areas that you are passionate about.  We have some thoughts on this that we would like you to review: <a href="/Pages/tip-priorities.aspx" style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);">http://www.yourlifeyourvoice.org/v2/Pages/tip-priorities.aspx</a>.</p> <span style="color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><p style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"></p> <span style="color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);">The next thing that you should think about is "me time".  This would involve scheduling time when you can simply take a break and enjoy your life.  If you are constantly stressed, it builds up and becomes a big load of bricks - let us explain: <a href="/Pages/tip-Drop-That-Bag-of-Bricks.aspx" style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);">http://www.yourlifeyourvoice.org/v2/Pages/tip-Drop-That-Bag-of-Bricks.aspx</a>.</p> <span style="color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><p style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"><span>Take some time each day to list out your top priorities for that day on a planner, have fun crossing them out when you have completed them and then celebrate with some "me time" when your list is completed.</span></p> <span style="color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><p style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"><span>When the stress becomes too much, keep reaching out to your mom.
