Scared Of High School

<div class="ExternalClassA7A91CEAA9D4445EBFF2EEB9BE6C527A"><p><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4" style="">Transitions in our lives are difficult. When you first started school, there was round-up and perhaps "pre-school" before kindergarten. If you walked to school, they even did the "Safe Walk" activity. When you transitioned from elementary to Middle-School, there may have been some pre-teaching and even orientation to the new type of schedule and movement from one classroom to another. </span></p><p><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4" style="">With that said, has your school offered any type of preparation to your High School career. Many times an orientation is offered for freshman and new students coming into that district. If you are not aware of one, call the school to see if anything like that is available.</span></p><p><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4" style="">Some schools make the orientation fun by having a scavenger hunt to help new students find certain rooms on specific floors to locate an object. They practice opening and locking your lockers so the new students don't struggle with that. If you are not going on to High School with kids you don't know, an orientation would give you the opportunity to get to know them a bit.</span></p><p><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4" style="">We have a couple tip that we think might be helpful: </span><a href="/Pages/tip-back-to-school-anxiety.aspx"><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4" style="">http://www.yourlifeyourvoice.org/v2/Pages/tip-back-to-school-anxiety.aspx</span></a><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4" style=""> </span></p><p><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4" style="">Check this out to see if something is available to ease your fear, uncertainly and depression. Good luck!</span></p><p><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4" style="">Sincerely,</span></p><p><span class="ms-rteFontFace-1 ms-rteFontSize-3 ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-4" style="">Pat, Counselor </span></p></div>
