My Friend Got Mad At MeRelationshipsMy Friend Got Mad At Me
I recently got a boyfriend and he is leaving my school next year. For that reason I want to hang out the most I can with him because I don't think I'm going to be able to see him in summer a lot but that has made me become a little more distant from my best friend and I barely have time to hang out with her. Last Friday she got mad at me and I left her a note but she still doesn't reply my messages. Advice?

Thank you for writing in, we know how difficult it can be to balance relationships and friendships, usually someone feels left out. Your friend might be hurt and just needs some time to process this. You have taken the first step by reaching out to her and if she feels you have chosen your boyfriend over her, she might need time to believe what you say. Sometimes when our trust is broken, we need that person to earn it back. This is done by the person showing us how truly sorry they are and is done over time.

LO, Counselor

12
