I lost my guy friend because I went back to my ex, even though I knew he had feelings for me. I miss him so much. I feel so bad that I hurt him like that, that I've cried so much because of the guilt. I just want things to go back to the way they were. I've apologized countless times and explained to him how he means so much to me. I don't know what to do. It's killing me.

It sounds like you are being really hard on yourself for making a decision that you now regret. We all make mistakes and sometimes it just takes a lot of time for the one that was hurt to work through it. You said you have apologized and have done your explanations. That is all you can do on your part for now. He may need some time away from you to figure out what he wants at this point. The waiting is hard, we know. Just be patient.

In the meantime, maybe it would help to text or chat with one of our counselors about this a little bit more. Holding it all in isn't healthy. You can call, email , chat or text through the home page on our site. You don't have to go through this alone. Be easy on yourself. Mistakes happen and we all make them. We learn a lot more from mistakes than anything.

Take care,

Naina, counselor

18
