My Best Friend Left MeRelationshipsMy Best Friend Left Me<div class="ExternalClass1051B7B5A8F442E7ACDD13F89E392B1E"><p style="font-family:georgia;font-size:16px;"><span>I'm having an issue where my best friend kinda left me but I allowed it to happen. I didn't know it was happening. I didn't tell her how I was feeling and I don't know why. I don't want to fix the situation cuz the school year is almost over and she will be leaving my school along with a bunch of other girls. I'm just really confused and find my self crying sometimes even I don't know why I'm acting this way and why I'm doing this to myself. </span></p> <span style="font-size:16px;"> </span></div><div class="ExternalClassC5E946A0DBA0427583058FD78B455F6A"><div><div class="ExternalClass1051B7B5A8F442E7ACDD13F89E392B1E"><p style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"><span>It is interesting how relationships change when we are going through our teen years as you are doing.  Don't question yourself about "why" you didn't tell your friend how you were feeling.  It could have just be instinctual that you didn't feel the closeness that you have felt in the past and didn't think it was something that you wanted or needed to share.  That in itself, is a sign that the two of you were no longer as close as you had been in the past and it was a part of moving on which you know is going to be happening at the end of the school year.</span></p> <span style="color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><p style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"><span>The same thing can be true of your friend, she knew that you would not be together and she pulled away from you as well in preparation for the future changes.  The fact that you are crying about how you feel doesn't mean that either of you did anything wrong or damaging.  It is a normal chain of events that occurs throughout life.  Some friends you make as you grow and change, will be friends for life and staying in touch with them will be worth any and all effort.  But, it will also be reciprocal with efforts from both of you.</span><span> </span></p> <span style="color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><p style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"><span>At 13, life is full of changes and these can easily cause emotional changes.  Try to take care of yourself during those tough times.  Do things that you enjoy and look forward to the future and the surprises it holds for you.</span><span> </span></p> <span style="color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"><span>Sincerely,</span></p> <span style="color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family:tahoma;font-size:16px;color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"><span>Pat, Counselor </span></p> <span style="color:rgb(63, 63, 63);"> </span><span style="font-size:16px;"> </span> <span style="font-size:16px;"> </span></div></div> </div>13
