I don’t know how to get over my made up guilt. I want to put everything into this message but I’m scared I’m scared that I'll have something truly wrong with me. Please help me

It's great that you are reaching out. You are doing the right thing. There is no sense in sitting alone with these feelings and being miserable. Although there are not a lot of details provided, it sounds like you are putting a lot of blame on yourself, but most things in life have options for solutions. There is not one perfect person out there, so even if you created some of the stress or issues you are worried about, it is ok.

Identify a trusted adult for starters and talk to them. Whether it is relationship issues, mental health issues, identity issues, legal issues, or otherwise, it might help to talk out what your options are. You might have people you are close to in your life who will be good listeners, but most important would be to find an adult who can connect you with professional help if that is what you need.

Also there is a person that most people are hardest on – that person is themselves. You might be in a funk right now where you are worried that things will never get better, but feelings can change, actions can change, motivation level can change, who you hang out with can change, and your mood can change. This might take time or admission, or apologies, or counseling, but you have so much more life to live, so do not hesitate to get help ok.

Laura, Crisis Counselor

14
