So Sad and Angry

So Sad and Angry

I'm feeling so sad and angry. When I start to feel better my conscience reminds me that its all temporary that there's no point of living and trying if we're all going to die in the end. It is making it so hard to have fun and enjoy things I used to. When I seek help from friends Iget the normal response of its going to be okay, stay positive, find something you enjoy and focus on that. Those kinds of responses make me so angry because I just can't enjoy anything anymore and whenever I say something positive my conscience backs it up with something way more negative. I've read some posts on the bulletin board and see the link to coping skills but that's not what I want. I don't want to cope or distract myself from my feelings. I want to get better. I want someone to be brutally honest to me. I want help and at this point I don't have anywhere else to go.

It is really good that you want to get better and face your sadness and anger head on. You have tried several things and by the sounds of your email they are not effective. It appears that you are depressed and would benefit by seeing a Professional Therapist. Life can fun, but it also has challenges. You have the power to work through these challenges but sometimes we all need a little help. We would encourage you to talk to a trusted adult, like a parent, teacher or school counselor and let them know your thoughts.

If you need to talk to someone immediately we are here at the Boys Town National Hotline 24/7 and can be reached by calling 1-800-448-3000. Our crisis counselors can help you find referral sources in your area if you like and can lend an ear and help you problem solve now to handle your sadness and anger on the short term. You can also reach a crisis counselor by texting: VOICE to 20121 (2p – 1a CST), or you can chat: thru www.yourlifeyourvoice.org (M-F 6p to midnight CST).

It's great that you have looked at the link to coping skills and the bulletin board. Don't stop there. If you have not been to your Doctor lately it may be a good idea to see them. You may be suffering from depression and possibly need medication to help work through the depression. You can have a long successful life and you have the power to find happiness once again. You have a purpose on this earth and can impact a lot of people in a positive manner along the way. There is no problem too big that you can't work through.

TO – Crisis Counselor
