Negative Thoughts About Myself

I have been really negative thoughts about myself and what people think of me. I been having these since realized I probably have some form of depression. I don't know how to get rid these because they make me feel sad. Every time I try to tell myself its not true it never works. I also hate compliments. It has something to do with my low self esteem, if someone compliments me on something I hate about my self I don't accept it or I say it's not true. How do fix this?
