I really want to talk to my mom about it. My dad is really disrespectful to her when she tries to talk to him. I really don't know what to say to her. I can't deal with it anymore I want to tell her that if things don't change I don't want to live with her and him anymore but I don't want to hurt her feelings. How do I talk to her? I don't even know how to cope with it.

We are so glad that you came across our website and are reaching out for support. It is difficult to deal with life when your parents are fighting and you are not sure how to handle it but please know that we are here for you.

It may be a difficult conversation when you share your feelings with your mom about how you feel about your father and all the fighting. It might be a good idea to ask her if you can talk when you know your father won’t be home so you have some alone time. When you do have the time to talk being completely honest about how you feel will help you mom understand and maybe the two of you can decide what the best option is or how to make things better. Sometimes it can be hard to open up to your parents and if you are really struggling with this you could write her a letter about how you feel. You could give this letter to her when your dad is not home or when you are leaving for school so you can talk about it when you get home.

You deserve to be happy and to have a life that makes you happy.
