Parents Are Stressed

A lot has been going on lately. It is causing a lot of stress to my parents. I have noticed some things going on with my health. Things that are making it hard to do well in school. I am honestly scared to say anything to either of my parents. I know that they will care, but it will cause them more stress. Every time I plan to go talk to them, before I get anything out, they start talking to me about a new problem they have. problems that are so much bigger than mine, it doesn't feel worth it to say anything. I really don't want to cause them and hurt or more stress.

We can understand that you don’t want to stress out your parents any more than they already are. Nobody likes to be stressed out. Your parents are your caregivers and when they decided to have children, they signed up to deal with whatever came their way, including a child’s health issues. It is best to talk with them now before the issue gets any worse. If it were to get worse, it could be an even bigger issue. They don’t want you to be ill in any way and if they knew you were hurting, they would want to care for you.

Would it help to write them a letter to give them a heads up that you need to talk with them? Set some time aside today to decide how you want to talk with them and what you want to say.

We are here for you anytime and would like to help. If you feel like talking, we are here. You need to also take care of yourself in the best way that you can.
