Worried About Talking To My Parents
hi, i was diagnosed with ADHD wen i was little nd throughout my life i always had trouble with mood swings  nd such. id be lik rele super happy nd hyper to rele depressed nd thinking of suicide. ive been thinkin for the past couple months that i may be bipolar. i know i shud tell someone bout my thought but my mom believes her mom is bipolar nd has a very hard time talking bout it, so i know if i tell her about it, it'l jus hurt her more or make her think im overreacting (same with dad) i have no idea wat to do. im so confused but i dont want to keep going through these horrible mood swings i cant control.

We are glad that you have reached out to us -- it really sounds like you are in need of some support.  We are concerned that you think about suicide or have thought about it before--so, try your best to focus on--you need to reach out to your parents as they can help you.  Yes, they will be concerned, but that is what parents do--they are concerned for their kids, and they can also get their kids help!  Your parents are concerned about you (as you said, they find it hard to talk about the diagnosis of bi polar disorder)..if they do want to know what is going on with you, they can not help.  It also could be true that sometimes they may feel or hear your pain, and they may not know how to help you--its not that they do not want to help you--does that make sense?
Do you feel you can contact us and let us know a little bit more about your situation?  What other support do you have?
Take care, and we hope to hear from you soon!
