We are so glad you are expressing yourself and reaching out for help. No one should have to feel the way you do alone. Please know that there are people who can help you with what you are going through. Feeling scared each day and as if you are doing everything wrong can be horrifying. Does anyone know you feel this way?
You may think that no one notices or can't help you, but if they don't know you are struggling they can't begin to help you. What about your parents, do they know? No parent wants their child to feel this way and they would do whatever they could to help you.
We truly hope you will reach out to them, as you did to us, and let them in on how you are feeling. Give them a chance to help you through what is going on!
Self harming is a scary thing to go through and we can't imagine how you are feeling when you want to end it all. Suicidal thoughts are not easy to deal with, but again, you don't have to feel this way by yourself. Just having someone to talk to about the ways you are feeling to help you cope with what is going on in your life could be the support you need.
You have so much life ahead of you and ending your life would not make things any better for anyone. There are so many people that care about you and would be devastated if you did something to end your life.
If at any time you feel you are unable to keep yourself from attempting suicide, would you be able to call, 1-800-448-3000, or email us first? We are here 24/7 and always available to talk with you about why you are feeling the way you are.
You deserve to feel good and to not feel that hurting yourself is the only way out, so please fight for yourself. By emailing, you have started your healing process and we want to help you continue that path.
Self harming is a coping skill that many turn to so they don't have to feel any pain. Soon enough, self harming will then begin to be another problem on your already list of ones you are trying to deal with.
There are so many more effective coping skills (reading, writing, drawing, taking pictures, making collages, making jewelry, animals, volunteering, talking with friends, writing cards/letters, music, and many more) you can use instead of hurting yourself. Yes, it will be hard and may not work all the time, but the more positive things you start doing for yourself the better you can feel.
You will soon realize how wonderful of a person you are and respect what you have to offer. Most people already see this in you and know it is time for you to see it too! We know this will be a difficult road and we hope you always know that we are here to help every step of the way. Never give up on yourself and know that we believe in you!
Please get back to us soon so we know you are okay. We also noticed you left your phone number, would it be okay if we gave you a call to check in? Let us know soon and remember that you are not alone!
Be Strong,
Andria, Counselor
