I'm Scared

I guess that this probably means there's something wrong with me..right? I'm not really sure what to do now. I guess I should talk to my guidance counselor that's what everyone says to do when you have a problem. I'm scared. I don't want my parents to find out about this.

My parents CANT find out about this! I also know that if you say something to your guidance counselor they can tell your parents. I can't have that happen they already remind me that I was an accident everyday, and that I'm the family screw up even though I get better grade then both of my brothers.

I know you can tell your counselor not to share this with anyone, but also if they think your in danger they tell. I need to know my next step is cause honestly I'm clueless and scared right now.

Hi, thanks for taking the steps to reach out to us. I am happy to hear that you have a guidance counselor that you communicate with in regards to your feelings. Having a support system is one of the best ways to get through difficulties that you may face in life. Please consult with your guidance counselor to discuss what you read, he may be able to provide more clarity and insight on how what you read pertains to you.

In regards to the website that you went to, the purpose of this website is to provide general information on illnesses and problems. It is not to diagnose or claim that you have the same issue too. If you do have many of the symptoms, that does not mean that anything is wrong with you. A lot of people have conditions that they have to manage but as long as they get help, they can live normal lives.

I am sorry that your parents say those things to you and that you feel unsupported. Have you reported this to your counselor? I know that you don't want to get anyone in trouble but your parents could benefit from knowing how this treatment is hurting you. Sharing this information can provide healing for everyone involved.

You should not deal with thoughts of suicide or any other type of conditions alone. Try writing your parents a letter about what you have been going through and see if they try to help. If not please let your counselor know.

Lastly, I encourage you to call our 24 hour hotline at 1-800-448-3000 for extra encouragement and guidance.

You deserve to be treated with love and respect so please keep in touch to let us know how things are going.

Sincerely,

Counselor, Kizzie
