It sounds like you are suffering from an eating disorder. We are so sorry to hear about your struggles. We are also very concerned for you. People who restrict their eating suffer from many medical problems. We are sorry that this is the way you have decided to cope with your emotional pain and hope you can seek help. These problems are things that can be overcome and you can begin to feel better. But as long as you are starving yourself, you will continue to suffer because of the malnourishment your body suffers.

Check out this website, www.something-fishy.org. It is a fantastic site that is there to support people who may be suffering from eating disorders and it may have some helpful information for you as well so that you can better understand what you are suffering through. There are lots of resources and places that you can reach out to on this site. Please continue to reach out for yourself. Some excellent people to talk to may be your school counselor, a favorite teacher, a parent, or a trusted adult relative. We don't want you to have to carry this around and just keep it to yourself. It was great that you reached out to us. Keep up your strength and courage and continue to talk about what you are going through.

We are sorry your self esteem is so low. We hope you can find a way to raise your confidence. Try some of these things...

-Write a list of things that you like about yourself or things that you are good at and read it each and everyday. And once a week, you are required to write something new that you like or that you think is a strength.

-Work on a hobby. Choose anything, theatre, writing, drawing, music, or martial arts. This will allow you to develop skills and accomplish goals.

-Stay busy. When you sit around and do nothing, all that means is you sit around and think about how bad you feel. Do anything, but don't do nothing.

-Get a part time job or volunteer somewhere. Sometimes by serving others in some way we can begin to feel better about ourselves.

-Call us! We are available 24 hours over the phone and would be happy to provide assistance and support however we can! The call is free and we don't want you to be alone. Our number is 1-800-448-3000.

Please stay safe and let somebody know about your starving yourself immediately. It may even be good to see your doctor about it so they can inform you of the serious consequences this can have. please take care and let us know how things progress!
