Thanks so much for continuing to reach out to us through e-mail. It is concerning to hear you have been developing an eating disorder. By only eating one meal a day, it sounds like you are engaging in some pretty unhealthy eating habits. We know you are having some concerns with your weight and body image, but have you ever thought about trying to lose the weight in a healthier fashion?
By going in to speak with a nutritionist, you could get some healthy tips on how to go about losing weight. Diet and exercise are often a great combination; but only if you are doing them in a healthy way. While we can’t provide medical advice, it is common knowledge that eating healthy not only leads to proper body weight, but it also helps you feel better as well. If you aren’t getting the proper nutrients, it could start to have a negative impact on your emotions and physical abilities. These side effects are what is so bad about an eating disorder.
Instead of trying to go overcome this eating disorder all by yourself, have you ever thought about opening up to a parent or relative? These people could help you schedule an appointment with the nutritionist so you can lose the weight in a healthy way. Besides, being 190 pounds doesn’t necessarily make you over weight; and, depending on your body size, you really don’t want to get underweight and become malnourished.
Please keep in touch; we are worried about you. Please let us know if you are willing to contact the nutritionist or a doctor, and please let us know how we can continue to help and support you.
Take care of yourself,
Abe, Counselor
