As you know, this world is full of things that can be dangerous and harmful to you.  It is great that you have your mind made up not to participate in things just because your friends are doing it. Right now this is about drugs but it could be about alcohol, sex, self-harm, cheating, stealing or many other things.

Because being faced with these things is inevitable, it is best to have a plan.  Something you can say and do when you find yourself faced with them.  Telling a trusted adult is always a good policy.  However, there may not be one around all of the time when you are being pressured into participating in these things.

We suggest first of all to;
1.  Firmly say, "no, or no thank you I'd rather not".
2.  Remove yourself from the situation.  Leave the area where this is going on.
3.  Connect with others who are not involved in using or doing these things.

There is a big difference in "ratting out" your friends and making a "peer report".  When you "rat someone out", the intent is to get them in trouble.   If you make a "peer report", your intent is to help them not get in trouble and keep them safe.  See the difference?

Hopefully this makes sense to you.  Let's talk more about this and please let us know if you have other ideas about what you could do to RESIST PEER PRESSURE and keep yourself safe.
