I made a big mistake. I was talking with one of my friends that I did drugs (weed). She was telling me that it was a bad turn to take, and all of my friends came and overheard. They asked me if I smoked weed, and I said yes, and now they know. I told them they couldn't tell anyone. They didn't respond to what I said.

I'm sure they're going to tell everyone, and I might even lose other friends if they find out about this, and the thing is that I actually started quitting. I only want my closest friends to know about this. Now my other friends do to. I don' really know why I said yes, but it was a huge mistake.

Now I don't know what to do. I really need help.

It may feel like a big mistake that you told your friends that you smoke weed. However, it may be one the better choices that you have made because now you know that you have friends that care and want to see you not going down that road and now you stated that you want to quit.

This will push you towards quitting even quicker.  Don't worry about what people say and what they think. Your closest friends can be your support.  When you talk to them, tell them that you have done it but you want to quit.

You would appreciate if they didn't talk about it with others but that you feel better since you let it out.  Go about it in a way that you are asking for support.

When a person tells a secret to someone, usually it is done so that we can be validated.  That means we are looking for support, either to keep it up or to support to quit something.

Does that make sense?  Quit smoking weed and let your friends help you celebrate. Your mistake was that you smoked weed. The solution was to tell your friend because they have pushed you to quit.

When you do quit, you can tell people that heard the rumor that you used to smoke it but since have quit, with your head held high!

Let us know how you are doing and we hope you will continue to reach out. We are always here for you.

Good luck,
