Hi,

Thank you for contacting the Boys Town National Hotline, we appreciate your email. Dealing with issues of bullying can be extremely difficult so it is great that you are reaching out for help.

It is clear that you are very upset about the way that this girl is treating you and your friends. Sometimes the best option is to simply ignore what your bully is saying or doing. This is something that can be really hard to do, but a lot of times all that person wants is to get a reaction out of you. By getting angry or saying something back to them you are giving them exactly what they want. If you walk away or say nothing, eventually they may get bored with you.

Reacting with violence is something that will only get you in trouble and may add fuel to their fire by giving them more to talk about. Continue to talk with teachers and other adults in your school until they do something about it. You may also think about having your mom contact the school as well as the parents of your other two friends. Bullying is serious business and it is important to continue to let someone know about it!

If you want more advice or need to talk, please call one of our counselors at 1-800-448-3000. We are a youth crisis line that is available 24/7. We would love to talk with you and look forward to hearing from you soon!

Take Care,

Ashley, Crisis Counselor
